TVN’s Stasi Expects NRTC to Influence Interactive Services to Rural America
July 7, 2009--In an interview with IPTV news, TVN Entertainment Chief Technology Officer Dom Stasi discussed the IPTV industry, TVN's merger with Avail Media and NRTC's strategic investment in Avail.
Stasi's interview precedes his appearance at the IP&TV Forum North America event, set to take place July 21-22, 2009. Stasi appears on Day 1 of the event, the same day that NRTC's Madeleine Forrer speaks.
When asked to describe the affect of NRTC's investment in Avail, Stasi said, "We’re quite fortunate to have NRTC as an investor and a strategic partner. . . NRTC’s involvement can only help the combined company to serve content owners and multichannel providers in the cable, satellite, and IPTV domains. I expect NRTC to influence and help insure the provision of a broad spectrum of interactive subscriber services to rural communities, a segment often precluded by the architectural and economic realities of satellite and cable. That’s community spirit and a very good thing."
